Occupational psychologists may be hired by larger corporations. In other circumstances, they may serve as external consultants hired on a contract basis by businesses or other organisations. Occupational psychologists may work alongside other professionals in an organisation, such as company operators, managers, supervisors, business coaches, HR specialists, careers counsellors, or other psychologists. Many of these people from other fields have some knowledge, abilities, or training in areas of practise linked to occupational psychology.
